Full Day Care

We also offer options for your child to be with us for additional hours outside of their morning classes. Children can join us as early as 7:30 a.m and remain with us up until 5:30p.m. Their day will include mealtimes, rest times (if required) indoor and outdoor experiences alongside others their age.

Afterschool Club

For children attending Primary School, we have an Afterschool Club which includes collection from all schools in Cobh and homework completed. Following Homework, the children enjoy a mealtime and planned indoor and outdoor activities alongside other primary going children.

About Us

We are the oldest established childcare facility in Cobh.
First set up in 1987 as Cobh Pre School & Childcare Centre in Wilmount Park, Carrignafoy. In 2012 we relocated to Ballywilliam and renamed the facility EARLY YEARS EDUCATIONAL CENTRE.

We are registered with the appropriate regulatory bodies and comply with all the statutory regulations and requirements.

Our passionate team is dedicated and enthusiastic. Our teachers hold degree qualifications- Level 8 in both Early Childhood Education and Montessori. All other practitioners hold level 5 and 6 qualifications in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Our developmentally appropriate curriculum supports children’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth and is approved by Síolta and Aistear (National Framework For Early Childhood Education).

The National Childcare Scheme

The National Childcare Scheme will provide financial support for parents towards the cost of childcare. It will provide a system from which both universal and targeted subsidies can be provided towards the cost of childcare. This new scheme will replace the existing targeted childcare programmes with a single, streamlined and more user-friendly scheme and will include “wraparound‟ care for pre-school and school-age children.

ECCE Scheme

The Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) programme is a universal two-year pre-school programme available to all children within the eligible age range

It provides children with their first formal experience of early learning prior to commencing primary school. The programme is provided for three hours per day, five days per week over 38 weeks per year and the programme runs from September to June each year.

Access and Inclusion Model (AIM)

The Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) is a programme of supports designed to ensure that children with disabilities can access the Early Childhood Care and Education Programme in mainstream pre-school settings and can participate fully in the pre-school curriculum alongside their peers.
The model is designed to be responsive to the needs of each individual child in the context of their pre-school setting. It will offer tailored, practical supports based on need and will not require a formal diagnosis of disability.

We have an Inclusion Co-Ordinator available to parents who can answer questions and seek supports that a parent may feel their child would benefit from. This could range from an individualised education plan or a  piece of equipment to adding an additional staff member to that child’s classroom. Our goal is to ensure we provide a service that all children can access equally and that every parent knows their child is receiving the support they need to reach their potential.
